Potassium sulphate induces resistance of rice against the root-knot nematode Meloidogynegraminicola

چکیده

Potassium (K), an important nutrient element, can improve the stress resistance/tolerance of crops. The application K in resisting plant-parasitic nematodes shows that treatment reduce occurrence nematode diseases and increase crop yield. However, data on K2SO4 induced rice resistance against root-knot Meloidogyne graminicola are still lacking. In this work, reduced galls plants delayed development nematodes. Rather than affecting attractiveness roots to morphological phenotype giant cells at feeding sites, such effect is achieved by rapidly priming hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) accumulation increasing callose deposition. Meanwhile, were more potassium channel OsAKT1 transporter OsHAK5 gene-deficient wild-type, while K2SO4-induced showed weaker defective plants. addition, during process infection, expression jasmonic acid (JA)/ethylene (ET)/brassinolide (BR) signaling pathway-related genes pathogenesis-related (PR) OsPR1a/OsPR1b was up-regulated after treatment. conclusion, M. graminicola. mechanism inducing prime basal defense required participation K+ rice. These laid a foundation for further study rational use fertilizer improving field.

Screening and identification of cucumber germplasm and rootstock resistance against the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita).

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp) are destructive agricultural pests that reduce the productivity of cultivated vegetables worldwide, especially when vegetables are cropped continuously in greenhouses. Cucumbers (Cucumis sativus L.), in particular, suffer extensive damage due to root-knot nematodes, and only a few wild species are known to be resistant. Grafting of cultivated plants to root...

1982 Engineering durable root-knot nematode resistance in crops by RNAi silencing of a root-knot nematode parasitism gene

Secreted proteins coded by parasitism genes expressed in esophageal gland cells mediate infection and parasitism of plants by root-knot nematodes. An essential parasitism gene, designated as 16D10, encodes a conserved root-knot nematode secretory peptide that stimulates root growth and functions as a ligand for a plant transcription factor. Plants were engineered to silence this parasitism gene...

Introgression of Root-Knot Nematode Resistance into Tetraploid Cottons

Root-knot nematode (RKN) resistance introgression into tetraploid cotton (Gossypium spp.) and its ancestral genome origin were examined. Resistance sources (‘Acala NemX’, ‘Clevewilt 6’, Auburn 623 RNR) were compared with diverse germplasm using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers from chromosomes 7, 11, and 14 and DNA sequence information. Differences (P < 0.05) were observed for mean root gal...
